I melted "her" pants??

OK gals--I did it now!!! I do hemming for a lady and she gave me a pair of dress pants to hem--which I have done times before--and I decided I would top off my morning by getting them done before lunch--and then my day was clear to blog and sew?????? Well, I did get them done and I had the bright "idea" of pressing the hems alittle more afterwards--- BIG MISTAKE--AS THE IRON TOUCHED THE FABRIC IT MELTED IT--I HATE HATE HATE Polyester fabric and will not wear it or buy any of it--now I really HAAAATE it!!!!!! It melted alittle bit of the the side of the leg--but did not leave a hole--I had the lady come by and she tryed them on and thankfully they are a bit too long, so even though it will be actually starting over again -- i can hopefully redo them and they will be ok--I can't figure it out really--I used the same iron to press the hems in to be sewn and it was fine---guess the iron decided to have a "temper tantrum"--it sure picked a good time?????!!!!!!!

I did get this pillow all done and it does fit where I planned for it to go--and I have actually done some hand quilting on a large wall hanging the last two mornings and I have two applique Bom blocks started--so there is progress!!! here is some pictures of some of the colors of hollyhocks we have down in the one garden:
And this one;
And this one:
And this one:
And then there is this color:
Believe it or not this one is black--yet it is really pretty--I just realized that there is no yellow and that I don't ever remember seeing a yellow hollyhock---have any of you ever seen a yellow one???????????

That's all folks==til tomorrow--have a fun day--hugs, just, Di

Hollyhocks are my Sweetie's favorite flowers and I don't do too well growing them. No, I don't think I have seen a yellow one!

This year I was thrilled to see my agapanthus bloom (purple) -- It seldom does. I moved it to the front and put it with day lillies and they both bloomed prettily!

Hello Di, thank you so much for stopping by and leaving such a sweet comment. Your blog is adorable, love all the embroidery that you have done. I've scorched clothes myself so I know the feeling. So funny that you visit the area that I am from. If you go to Burlington City their is the cutest quilt shop and a gift shop called Tin and Berries. I look forward to them everytime I go. I'm adding you to my list of favorite blogs!
PS I love hollyhocks too!
Bless you, Shirl

Hi Di,
Thought I'd pop in and say I'm still around. The children are having a great time and the weather has been good until today. Hope the trousers turn out ok - made me smile though! Just the sort of thing I'd do :) Hugs!
