WORKS IN PROGRESS

Thought I would share with you today--
where I am on some projects--
First is the star quilt--
Have gotten some more stars hand stitched together to make the star shape--

On the Summer Spools quilt top by Temecula--
This was step one--
and here is lots of 'parts' for step 2--
there is 400---1 1/4"squares of muslin there on the one side!!!
lots of sewing to do here, yet--
at least the cutting and marking are done--

On the Knitting homefront--
I did get the drop stitch scarf off the needles--
the yarn is called Camelspin--
this yarn is 70%silk and 30% camel--
I still need to block this one!!!!

And on the needles is this new shawl--
love how this pattern is coming along--
and this yarn is also called Camelspin!!
and yes, Alice, you are seeing some purple in there!!!!!

and I have started hand quilting on another small quilt--
the Welcome to the Farm one!!

What are you working on????
and I am posting July's challenge today over on my Workbasket site--
so be sure to check it out!!!

SUNDAY SMILES

I can not say that I am smiling alot ---
yet---
but---
we will get there--right????
I am still having alot of facial pain--
but have decided it is not from the teeth--
it is from my other illness of the environmental issues--
I have been having an issue with some pain in that right cheek area for awhile now--
off and on--and I do believe that is where this 'extra' pain is coming from now--
My biggest hope is that once this area of my 'gum's' heal,
that I will also not have this 'other' pain as well--
I know I am sure that I have totally confused you--well--welcome to the club!!!
It is really hot and humid here today--
a good day to stay inside and work on a hand project!!!
I am so glad that we have 2 weeks--
opps--had 2 weeks--
now have 1 week yet to get our homework done for the Temecula stitch along--
cause I did not feel up to it last week--
but do hope to be able to do some stitching this week--
is anyone else doing this SAL?????
Thanks for 'Bearing' with me this last week--
and for all the great prayers and thoughts and comments--

BEHIND ME--

now is the first of 3 dentist pulling appts!!!
and I hope and pray this is the worst of them--

The left side of my face is swollen and still painful--
but a 'tiny' bit better today!!!
sooooo---
I have worked on quilting the flying geese quilt top--
and have been knitting on the new shawl that I started over the week end--
other wise--
it has been trying to figure what and how to eat what??????

Hope everyone is stitching away on something!!!

TOMORROW--TOMORROW!!!

Is one of the 'big' days for this--
and the dentist  will get 3-4 more teeth for his collection!!!!!
I learned back in January that I needed to have the rest of my top teeth taken out--
but that doesn't mean that I am happy about it!!!!
or that I am looking forward to it!!!!!
but--
it must be done--they say--
so I will put on my 'big girl panties' tomorrow and go for it!!!
I have chosen to have a few done at a time and with just the local injection for pain--
nothing like 'pro-longing' the pain, hu?????
So  Shell--
I can soon eat this--
Chocolate --that she sent me--knowing that it is soft and just melts in your mouth!!!!

Here is a close up of the Snowbound fabric--
I just love these little houses and the colors--
oh--this photo does make the green lattice way tooooo green though!!
can't win can I????

I started a new knitting project over the week end--
and it is coming along great--
and today I am basting 2 small quilts for hand quilting--
and then there is the star hand piecing blocks that I am working on--
so--
in the event that I don't really feel well for the next couple days--
I have lots of hand work I can do and if that don't work--
there is always lots of unread books on my Kindle!!!

Hugs, di and miss gracie

HAPPY DANCE--

another top is finished--

the outer  border is a piece of fabric that I have had with this quilt since day 1--
it is called 'petite mansions' and was designed by Anne of Bunny hill--
and I so wanted to use it on her quilt blocks and it did seem to work out great--
I had just enough fabric for the borders!!!

Have a great Saturday--

SNOW---SNOWBOUND!!!

Well-it is not actually snowing here in the summer time!!!!
but I am thinking cool thoughts as I  work on this quilt top--
and yes I did rearrange the bottom row--
I thought it was 'neat' how the first block in this series has the word, Joy, on it!!!
and that in the last row was one with the word, Believe on it--
so left the Joy block for the beginning and moved the Believe block to the last block!!
there will be alot of button features on this one once it is hand quilted--
wonder what century that will be???????????????
this quilt top is not finished yet!!!

Yesterday I ran out of stars--
so out came the 30's prints box and now I have this pile --
believe it or not there is over a dozen more stars to be stitched from this pile!!!

Went for a walk last night  down to the lake--
and look what I found--
Family #1 with babies--
Family #2--with babies--
I just love watching these babies swim around and eat bugs--
they are just soo cute!!!
Smile--

DOES ANYONE REMEMBER---

this quilt project???
I can only remember that I think it had to do with using a 'jelly roll'???
I used a French General fabric jelly roll--
and I was a good girl and did get all 12 blocks done--
( blocks are 12 1/2 X 12 1/2)
but that was as far as I got with them and have wanted to get them sewin into a top
ever since!!!
and yesterday and this morning that got done--
but yesterday I had this problem--
the top row of 3 blocks and the next row--did not match up==
so had to do some froggin and some repinning and resewing!!!
and --drum roll please--
the top is done--
it is hard to tell here how  pretty the border is--
so here is close up of that!!!
Now to cut the binding and put this one on a hanger for me to enjoy!!!
and again it goes into 'waiting' --
waiting for me to hand quilt it!!!!!

I have just one more larger quilt top to put together--
so that is this afternoons 'thinkin' project--
as to how I want to finish it !!!

Be good--keep stitching--
hugs, di and miss gracie

ANOTHER ONE IS OUT!!!

One really has to watch all those 'ufo's'
as they have a way of either 'hiding' for long long periods of time--
or they just keep 'jumping' out of their hiding places and
demand that it is their turn to be worked on!!
Like this one--
it screamed at me the other day and said--
" it is my turn"--
so we are working on it once again--
and this morning I discovered that I was out of the muslin for the background pieces--
so got some sun and exercise going over to the quilt shop for more!!!

Also kept forgetting to take a picture of the knitting project--
that I am working on--
Still lots of length to knit on this yet!!!

And yesterday I was a good girl and got my homework done on
the new Temecula sew along project--
So I am moving right along here!!!

In the window at the quilt shop is this dress--
This wedding dress was made by Kim, one of Anne's daughters whom works at the quilt shop--
the important fact here is what it is made of???????????????
empty recycled dog food bags!!!!!!!!!!!
Kim's sister Daisy wore it in a fashion show for Kim!!

It is gotten muggy here--and was stormy last night--
but the sun is out today!!!

WEEK END PROJECTS--

I got the last 3 blocks to the Snowbound quilt finished--
I have not found the button accents for these 3 blocks yet--
but basically all 12   blocks are now ready to be finished into a quilt top!!!

and as my challenge for everyone this month has to do with --
flying geese--
I made me some this morning--
there is '48' of them here==
and they measure--1 1/8" by 1 3/4" --
yes I am--
but someone has to be around here!!!!
this is going to be a small quilt by Jo Morton from the classes I took 2 years ago!!

And I did take the 'big boy' camera out for a walk after the Nascar race today--
a really pretty mallard duck--
loved the way the sun shone off his neck--
and--
large sail boats--
Sun shinning off the lake--

I also prepped fabric for 2 other new projects--
one is a redo and am using it for leaders and enders project--
the second one we got the cutting instructions last week and tomorrow should get the first set of sewing instructions!!
