I have become a dress designer!!
You all know that I feel in love with the paper pieced dresses--
well-
not really that they were paper pieced--
but the idea of a quilt of dresses!!
then I tried my 'hand' at the paper piecing ones for 2 months--
wellllllllllllllllll--
I just was not happy with my piecing--
so yesterday a 'lightbulb' moment hit me--
and I decided I would design my own-- in applique--
so here is the first one--
and I have the next 3 dresses all ready to go once I learn the color for next month--
But then I felt bad for the first 2 dresses I did--
sooooooooooooooo--
I unstitched them and re-did them with applique onto the fabric block--
and here they are--
and I do like them much much better-
and alot less stressful stitching them!!
So now I have a new career--dress designing!!
And I also got some blocks done on other bom's--
and decided that I really did need to order another charm pack of this Downtown Abbey line--
I did find it on Missouri Quilts site and discovered--
Drum roll here--please--
that you can order just a 1/4 yard of there fabrics--
so now I can build my stash alot faster---!!
this again was a simple block--but it took me an hour to make--
as "I" kept changing my mind on the colors!!!

What a sweet dress! Sometimes we just have to make adjustments to patterns that work best for us!

Cute dresses! Another hidden talent!
Now you've gone and done it! I wasn't interested in paper piecing dresses. But I would LOVE to applique dresses! Is it too late to join in on the fun? Is it QAL or BOM somewhere?? LOVE LOVE your new dresses.
