TREASURES----

Let's talk treasures today--
my first and most valuable treasure is:

all my blogging friends from near and far---

But my second most 'fun' kind is--
finding new treasures--
to junk up my space????

I visited a new "junk" shop that opened up about a month or so uptown--
and here is treasure #1 from there--and yes that says 50 cents!!!

I love the color blue of this--and it was 25 cents--

this is an old jar--love it-- and a cute Lamb--both where only 50 cents each--

and a pastry brush for only 10 cents--
have looked and looked for one of these--
everything now is that silicone--I wanted the old fashioned kind!!!!!

Aw--what is that you said, Miss Gracie????
OH--yes--I know that I am cleaning out and getting rid of---
welll--so that I can get some new treasures to use--
doesn't that sound like a gooooood answer??????

Well--hopefully tomorrow I will be back into the 'mess'--
book is finished--races are over until the week end--
sooooo?????

Yep--got my nose in a good book--
so no 'work' got done today--

KEEP TALKING---

I do have to admit--
this is becoming an adventure--

as you locate and open each tote or box--
it is almost like getting a box of cracker jacks--
you are never quite sure what you might find---

Luckily so far-- I have not found someone's lost child in any of my totes!!!!!

but you do find patterns and books and such that you totally forgot you bought--
and why are you finding them now--
cause--
one is not organized---

several years ago I was visiting with one of lil sister's friends and she opened her drawer in the
kitchen and I nearly fell over--
cause each item was lined up nicely and you did not have to search though 3-4 layers of things to find the tool you needed!!!!
and I do have to say that that has stayed with me--
and so I make sure I only have to go through---
 2-3 layers in my drawers!!!!!

now if we all had this in our sewing rooms we would--
have room for all our equipment for crafting?????
and talking about crafting--

I have never seen so much 'paper' tons and tons of it--
I have sorted and tossed and sorted and tossed--
and now the big question is--
what do you do with the patterns you no longer want to keep???????

and what do you do with ''say'' the rubber stamps that you have been collecting==
but never get around to using them?????
is it time for them to find new homes tooo???????

I so enjoyed all your comments on the last post--
and it is 'fun' to relook at every fabric collection and say--is this me?????
and if not--it goes into a bag for someone else--
the only problem here is--I still have too much fabric--me thinks!!!!

to keep in the space I have for it!!!!!

WE NEED TO TALK----

Yep--it is that kind of time--
I am doing some thinking and some soul searching--
and what it comes down to is---

the fact that I need to 'refind' me!!!!
now don't panic here--
keep reading-----

After you attend so many different classes--
read so many blog sites--
talk to so many friends--
read so many magazines and books--
I think we loose ourselves--
cause the message we are consistently  getting is--

Step out of your comfort zone--get alittle wild here--try this or that--
on and on and after a few years you look at your fabric stash --

and you say--
opps--where is the fabrics with the colors and designs that I am comfortable with--
where have I gone during this last phase of thinking beyond my comfort zone?????
Why am I making these quilts or craft projects and then deciding they are not me--
nor do they fit in my home--
why am I spending so much time, money, energy on projects that are--
yes, maybe fun to make cause someone else made one too--
but--it doesn't fit home or me--
so I need to find someone to give them too---
and not that that is a bad thing to give things away--
and we do need to make things for others--

but when I am making things for others--I want to be thinking of that person and using fabrics that they will like and that will go in there homes--
and then one has to wonder--
what is it they do like --as they are out there doing the same thing--
making things out of their comfort zone--tooooo!!!!

Now, I am not saying that we should learn new ways and new tools--
but I think from now on for me--
I am cleaning out and getting rid of fabrics and projects that just are not me--

THINGS ARE GROWING--

Outside--

and more and more spring birds are flyin in--

Which makes this girl happy--

Sorry -- miss gracie--birds are outside and you are inside!!!!

My Christmas ornament is growing--

the mouse part is stitched!!!

and I have been working on this a bit each day that I can get in the sewing room for a few minutes--
it is one I am designing==but here is a 'peek'--

Nice bright cheerie colors!!!

THE COLOR IS GREEN--

For the month of April --for our block--
and I had to do some hunting--
but was able to get them all from my stash!!!

I have very little fabric in green greens--
I use mostly ivy color greens!!!!
but do like how this block came out--
and my new Easter Bunny helped me display for you!!!

And then me and the frog became friends for the afternoon--

and we frogged the last strip that came out too short--
row by row--
then as I frogged each block--out here in the rocker--
I would take it to the sewing machine and stitch it back together again!!!
Why--needed some walking steps on the 'meter' today!!
and when done--it now looks like this--

Yes-- all three are now the right length---
I had discovered when I did the green block that my needle position had gotten moved and was therefore giving me a larger seam allowance than the 1/4"--go figure!!!

So two projects for this month are done--
then later this afternoon I got the cross stitch out for getting things ready for the Christmas ornament for April--

and this is the one I picked!!!
but also discovered that I had to do an order for more 28ct cloth--done!!!!
Oh I love to shop on the Internet!!!!!

And then I worked on this project--

getting some 'prize' gifts ready to mail for the "most comments winners" in January!!!
I am slow--and that is just me--I have decided--but hopefully gals these will be in the mail tomorrow!!!!

And here is what I have been working on since Sunday--

I filled these 2 notebooks with all the pages that I stealrip from my magazines!!!

and--

there is just pretty pictures on some pages--
some are information pages I want to look back on --
some are decorating ideas that I have been saving for along time--
they are all in pages now and I have created my own--coffee table books--
they are not 'organized' yet by category's--that is next years project--
we don't want to get too organized all in one year-now do we??????

EASTER BUNNY MAKES A--

Stop at an old lady's home--

Ok--is the bunny pulling a 'trick' on me--

At least they both know that I love 'pink'!!!

And guess who helped the Easter bunny--
none other than my friend--Alice--
thank you Alice for making me feel like a 'kid' again--
I just love everything--oh and that solid chocolate bar--yummmy!!!!!

I did try to be good today and do some sewing--
did another row on the Whiggly quilt--

today's is on the far right--
but for some reason it came out short!!!???? hummmmmm??????

well--it's late for me to be on here tonight--
so need to go---
