OUR LAST MONDAY --

for 2020--

What are you doing today???

You know what I was doing this morning--that darn laundry!!!

And I had taken my red baby sweater down to the lobby to knit on while waiting for the dryer--

and discovered a 'boo-boo' about 10 rows back--so I went 'backwards' in the knitting--instead of forwards!!!   But hopefully --I am ready to start to knit forward on it again!!

And --yesterday--afternoon-- I was a good girl and got out the gingerbread dough-and made cut out cookies--I only used  the gingerbread boy cutter, a star and a bell--

This was a new to me recipe that I had clipped from a magazine --at some point--but  I do have to say--they are the best and only make about 3 dozen cookies which I liked and they are nice and gingerbready!!!  I will be freezing them to pull out one now and then with a nice hot cup of tea!!  I am not big on frosting--so will leave them 'naked'--poor cookies!!!!

from my daughter --

For Christmas I got some lovely things--fabric, quilt magazines, cross stitch kit of a light house and beach scene-a book to read, puzzle, small crock pot, cordless iron, string of 66ft fairy lights, and gift cards and lots of chocolate!!!

from my son and his girl friend--stocking was full of chocolate!!

Remember -last year here at this Senior complex--we had 2 big gift aways and a big Christmas dinner-this year with all that's happened --the 2 agencies that did last year's gifts decided they needed to move on to other senior places--we weren't sure that we would get anything--but the American Legion over on the beach came though and we all got $30 gift cards that are good anywhere--I like that better than a gift bag--so I am a happy camper--(now I wonder which fabric company will get my $30.00?????)

Talking about spending--I got today's special at Missouri quilts--a layer cake of some really bright busy fabric with a plan in mind--for more Sisters blocks for next year!!!--and I was good, only, a couple other fabrics did jump in the cart but they are putting some blocks together that I already have done--!!!!

Well--time to get on with my job for this afternoon--though I can't decide whether it will be sorting quilt patterns, or doing some work here on the computer--hummm??????

WHAT IS EVERYONE DOING FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE THIS YEAR?????

LUV, DI

MMM, I thought I smelled cookies baking! Now I know why! lol Enjoy them. I like your idea of freezing them and only taking out a couple at a time. Makes them last longer!

Nice gifts from your kids! Enjoy making decisions what to do next!

I never did make gingerbread like I was thinking but I have been eating bits of the train kit I purchased. I'm keeping my recliner warm again today - day 3 of being a bump on a log. Hopefully I feel better tomorrow so I can wander into my office to work. I did finish my OMG.... and started block 20 of Endless Diamond. I'll be in bed sleeping before midnight on the 31.... although maybe I need to stay up and make sure the year does end?
Happy stitching ... and eating.

You must have been a very good girl this year! I may have done a little online shopping myself yesterday. Of course with the mail situation right now, the stuff probably won't arrive until after the online sew-alongs!!!! But I will stay busy with the hundred other projects that I have. LOL!

The cookies look good! We've just about finished off all the Christmas cookies we baked. Which is really good, I need to get serious about my eating habits again. Looks like your family knows you really well. Have fun deciding where to spend your gift.
