SOME PROGRESS--AND IT'S WARMER!!!

I am finally able to say the weather temps are moving back up to more normal ranges for Florida--Yea!!!  Though today the Sun keeps having to fight the clouds to get out and shine!!!!

Monday was the Van trip to Walmart--had 12 signed up  for 9 seats--but only ended up with 8 residents showing up--( learned on Wednesday that the reason one resident did not show up--was because he had died over the week end--sad for his family--but he was the one I had the most problems with--he was rude and very stubborn ) !  I needed to go but mainly for some basic items--one being a wrist brace--am having lots of problems with my right wrist and down my arm--but---the material they make the braces out of--down right--STINKS--and even with soaking in it baking soda and hot water--it didnot take the smell out of it and I can not wear it--does anyone have any other ideas for getting the smell out????  Thanks!!

Ok--we have ended the month of January--so what did I get accomplished????

Believe it or not--I did get one quilt completely finished--

The Christmas Sunbonnet Sue is all done---I had planned to use more of the red lattice fabric for the binding--but found there wasn't enough and no other reds I had really worked so went with a green print!!

And as you will see in the next photos--

I added a novelty button to the Sue's hands--and I confuse--I finished this in the evening on the 31st!!!

My challenge project for this one--

was  my embroidered Trucks from Crabapple Hill studios-  I did make progress on them--just not what I had hoped to get done--

There is 4 trucks all together--I did get them trimmed up to 8 1/2 by 11 1/2--and I found lattice and cornerstone fabric and got them cut--they are just waiting for the quilter to sit down long enough at the sewing machine to sew them together?????

February's number for the Chook challenge is #10 and that is this one for me--
finishing off these wool Christmas ornaments--can't say I am happy about working on Christmas so soon--but this--January I also worked on Christmas Sues--soooo!!!

And here is where I am on the counted cross stitch project--

I have 2 blocks done and the little trees in the header all stitched in--it's hard to see by this photo but there is snow--snowing in both of these blocks--!!

It is National Embroidery month--and this year there is no daily stitching from Crabapple Hill--but--I remembered I had prepared alot of her blocks from some patterns while I was in New York--5 1/2 years ago--found that box yesterday and decided I would work on the '3' blocks I had traced and colored back then for this month--from this pattern--( sorry it is hard to see the photos--the one the picture was always very light anyways and I have had it a long time!
and this is the block I started last night on February 1st--

She did give us '2' blocks she was  working on--I have downloaded them for in the future--but as these are already prepared--will do these--

So now we are on to Valentines day--I did decorate the small lobby area by my apartment--but haven't done much in the apartment yet--My friend Carolyn came down yesterday afternoon and we worked some, on doing my walls--here is the main one we did--
I got my sewing machine table lower--and then we did this over it--but let me tell you--those 2 little black shelves did not want to hang on the screws at all--can't figure it out--they hung for me upstairs??? We finally put that wide thick double stick tape on the to hold them in place--(Men have their duck tape--women have the thick double stick tape!!!!!!!)  This morning I got the bright idea to display my little pincushions and such on them, the bunny and the chick are tape measures!!!

And we added these 2 canvas's to the doors of the china hutch--

I also did this, to over my desk --

They are 2 baking cooling racks from Dollar Tree that I hooked together using zip ties and added bright colored clips to--so I can add photos and such to it--(I can't use regular cork board--again cause of the smell on them--grrr!!)   I also added one set, to next to the sewing machine to hang patterns, ect, on it!!!
Working on some other ideas for the rest of the walls--!!

WE CAN BE SAD FOR THINGS HAPPENING IN THE WORLD--BUT WE MUST KEEP THE FAITH AND KEEP ON DOING WHAT WE NEED TO DO FOR US AND OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS--
BIG HUGS, DI
