ANOTHER FAST MOVING WEEK--

I know we are thinking these days that all weeks are moving fast--So it is hard to know if one week moved faster than last week--But????

I did get some actual sewing done this week--

first-- I got the little coasters finished up-

the two in the tan's go to my daughter--the blue ones are mine--

And the big news is I am doing this weekly sew along--

I happened to see this on another bloggers site that I read--Little Penguin Quilts--as she is doing it too--my reasons for doing this one-

1. I liked that is smaller--though you can make it any size--

2. I like the different fabric squares in the background--

3. that yellow shouted to me--

4. it is applique and I was on the lookout for an applique project--

Now you can use any color for the orange peels--and I did consider and looked at other colors but for whatever reason--yellow was the loudest-- shouting out to me--

Now on Thursday my girlfriend, Cheryl and I was out and about and she took me up to the Quilt shop that is closing--I was shocked at how much she still had--the store is full yet of most everything--and fabric is everywhere--lots of it--only you have to buy it by the yard--at $12-16 dollars a yard with a 30% off--and I was surprised but nothing shouted my name--so I did pick out 4-5 fat quarters in yellows and left--!!!!!

Here is my background piece--that I sewed together yesterday--

I think we will start on the orange peels this week-this still needs the final pressing though

And I got the last row on Big Blue hand quilted--

I just have the border going around the quilt and that outer border to do something on--but am thinking I might do the binding next----or????????

Here is where I was this morning on the new counted stitching--

And, yes, I did do the word corn in gold--after I got my Easter cards ready for mailing I did have some time to add to this--

just needs another stem of cherries on top of the other stem and then move on down the letter's!!

I have been working on this embroidery project in the evenings too--

I had done some work on the watering can--but decided I did not like it--so--out it came!!
will probably be working on this this afternoon while watching the race--

I did buy me some glass drinking glasses with lids--I just couldn't stand the 'taste' of the steel drinking cups--for some reason they do have a bad taste with the water in them--

really pretty aqua color with shiny silver decals on them--they came as a set of 2 with the bamboo lids and glass straw--got the set at Bealls--for $11.00--

I remembered this sleeve I had and it does keep the water colder longer by using it!!!

Some photos of my Easter things--in the top one--I had to add some stuffing to that little pillow--

I stitched these at least 10 years or more ago now--though the bowl they are in is only owned by me the last couple years--but it is an old dish--
and here is a collection of smalls I did from Melisa's designs--

and now the china cupboard--

found those 'chocolate' looking ( just plastic) rabbits at Walmart--they look so real like the real chocolate bunnies we buy!!!

And a new Easter item--from Publix trip--

wanted a rabbit with the green cabbage bowl--but haven't seen one--but --then you know how pink always gets my attention--soooo!!!!!

And I will end with some flower photos I took this week--

These are in the shopping plaza where I go to shop--they are soooo pretty there--

And these were outside a Cheddar's Restaurant where Cheryl and I ate lunch on Thrusday--

Did I ever tell you how much I love the color ---Pink?????

And I seen this house across the street from where I was 'interviewing' a new doctor!!

I thought it really different in style--

HAVE SOME SEWING AND OUTING ADVENTURES THIS WEEK--AND WATCH THOSE CHOCOLATE RABBITS--THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!!!
HUGS, DI

I got my 25 background squares sewn together this week, too! They also need a good pressing, and I think I will starch the whole thing as well. Your yellow plan for the orange peels is going to be pretty! Love seeing your fun Easter decorations, too.

Those orange peels look like a fun project! I never would have thought to sew the backgrounds together first. It will be fun to watch grow in sunny yellow. Have a great week.

It’s always fun to see your themed decorations. Yellow peels are good. Call them lemon peels. Good progress with you x stitch….
