NEW ADVENTURES AND MOTHER'S DAY

It's been a couple busy weeks--Started last week on Wednesday with a day out with my son and lovely daughter in law--to celebrate my birthday--a week early--

We went to the Zoo first--and got there around 3pm--it was a perfect day-- Sunshine and beautiful blue skies and a light breeze--

there was alot of changes to see--

They have added 'tons' of metal decorative pieces though out the Zoo and I believe most of them light up at night--

We spent a couple happy hours looking at animals--first time to be at the zoo so late in the day--but it was lovely--hardly any others there --so got to see alot with no crowds or crying kids--(they all go in the morning--like I used too!!!)

After we left there they took me to Hobby Lobby, near there for some much needed baby yarn--
Here is the nice bright cheerful colors I got--

and here is 2 more skeins I got and nice start on this sweater is in progress-

And before I made it all the way back up front, to the cash out--look what jumped into my cart!!!!

(My popcorn shrimp came in this cute little bag--but it held alot of shrimp also got 2 other kinds of shrimp!!)
Then we went out to Red Lobster for dinner--though we don't eat Lobster--mostly I eat 'shrimp' and they eat shrimp or salmon--had some good food and 'slow' service--but pleasant service!!

Ok--so what have I been doing stitching wise--

I got my 2 pink houses built for April's color--

Got these 4 cross stitches made into little pillows--the 2 bottom ones I did back in the early 90's--

And here they are in my shadow box--along with a couple new birthday gifts from my daughter--the little pots in the top row that says m o m--and the pot of crochet tulips in front of the bears--Also the third shelf down on the right is my new tea cup and teapot salt and pepper set from Cracker Barrel where me and 4 friends went to lunch on my Birthday on Wednesday!

And here is '5' old ladies a rockn away out side in front of Cracker Barrel--only I am a good 10 years older that the other '4'--

And here is the first 3 rows of the hexie wall hanging--

I have the 4th row stitched together now--

And here is May's wool bom project--she is already working in her garden!

And May's embroidery block from Country heart is all done--

And I finished block 2 and 3 on the Summer cross stitch by Melisa--
Now block 2 is different--but is still one of Melisa's designs--I needed chickens in my summer one--not sure why--but needed chickens!!!????

MOTHERS DAY--
Oh my--us mother's had a 'hay day' raising our kids--but we did it in an age of wonder and beauty--without cell phones and gaming equipment in their little hands--so we did good--and I believe we brought up kids who respect us and all we did for them in their growing years and now most of them are in their years of raising kids of their own--so

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU

KEEP YOUR NEELDES FLY'N AND ALWAYS ENJOY A BIT OF NATURE EACH DAY--
HUGS TO EVERYONE--DI

Happy Birthday and Happy Mother's Day! Looks like you had a fun day at the zoo. Love seeing what you're working on, too. Are the little hexie embroideries that you're EPPing into a wall-hanging from Kathy Schmitz? They look like something I would enjoy making!
