STARTING OVER

remember that I am doing '2' hand piecing projects with the same blocks--

Well--I 'thought' I had gotten the Christmas one done--
more on that one later--
SO
Friday night I started on the Aqua one--
and did 3-4 strips of the white with the little aqua squares in them
When I sat down late afternoon on Saturday to continue working on them--
I discovered a problem--
I had cut them wrong size--
some were only 7" long--what???
and some where 9" long--
luckily I played with the 9" ones --cause I soon learned
they were too short too!!!
I needed 9 1/4" long--my blocks came out a bit small--
I think they were suppose to be 9 1/2"--
soooo--
I had to get up and cut 18 more strips of 9 1/4" long--
and then went back to work--
I did get the main body done--
but still have the outside border to do!!

Now back to the Christmas one--
I knew yesterday after I posted the photo that the cardinal block
didn't look right--
then this morning in looking closer -
I made the discover that the block above the cardinal-
the cup of cocoa is pointed wrong too--
See????
So that will be my first job this afternoon--
unstitching 2 blocks and moving them to an new angle
and then restitching them back into the quilt--
this will also mean-
2 of the half triangle pieces will have to be 'unstitched'!!!!!

Now for --
This is the new project I started this morning--
I just love this mouse!!!
and I just know she is cooking up something 'yummy'!!!

and then later while I watch the race this afternoon--
I will be embroidering on this piece--
last week I got the morning glories almost done--
they need a french yellow knot in their centers yet!!

And I forgot my monthly report for--

For the month of May--
I stitched 31 out of 31 days--
thanks to doing an applique heart of the day!!!
And I stitched a total of 125  hours for the month!

SO OFF I GO TO STITCH--

THANKS
TO EVERYONE WHO IS STILL WORKING AT STAYING AND BEING SAFE--
I LOVE YOU FOR IT--
LUV, DI

Oh no! I cut things wrong on the first quilt along. Don't you hate when you notice something in a photo after you have it completed? Could you just turn the quilt the other way? Good luck.

I hate when I cut things wrong. Usually because I don't buy a lot of extra fabric. That little witch mouse is adorable. I will enjoy watching your progress. I am looking forward to seeing what you finished while watching the race too. Stay safe.

Oh don't you just hate having to start the sewing day with unsewing?!?! Grrrrr!
I enjoyed seeing your hand stitching project... enjoy!

Oh cutting strips or blocks short has happened to me also. Good catch on the cocoa block - better now than when it's quilted! It will be a breeze from here on out.

Oh that is frustrating, to have to go recut strips for an ongoing project. Love the aqua and pink color palette in those blocks. Hope you've gotten your Christmas version all patched up and ready for finishing.

yeah, I don't usually notice those things until after they're quilted! It's good luch that you had enough fabric to recut your strips. Glad you have so much to keep you busy and off the streets. LOL!
