AUGUST---
along with new beginnings and new goals--
But--first we need to finish showing off --July's projects--
I am a happy camper as I did get the Christmas quilt from last fall all hand quilted--
When I started the quilting--I did discover a big mistake--
see the green print sections that come out from around the Joy block--well--that top one is backwards--I was not able to fix it as it was all hand basted and would of been a huge make over--so--I am hoping no body ever notices but me (and now you???) I enjoyed this quilt though all the sewing and hand quilting--
here is what I used on the back of it--
so now we can mark this project--totally finished!!!this one came with all those cute buttons--haven't decided yet how I am completely finishing this one--??
And I did go overtown on Friday--to my 2 favorite shops--
and now a new plant had been added to my collection--and a cute planter--
See the plant in the whale?? it has more than doubled in size since I brought it home 2 days ago!!! the whale is for the bathroom and will get an air fern in it--but she was kinda out of them expect for little baby ones--we did find the larger one in the shop for my sheep vase--
and the yellow container in the middle is new from the thrift store--just wished it was pink or white--but it is the right size for now--and--looky at that cute hedgehog--wonder where she got him????
Ok now for August goals--
the number pulled for this months finish for a top was #8 and that is my star blocks--
from the color of month-2020--

You've got so many wonderful projects! You did a great job on that Joy piece! I love it! I'm wearing my mask when I go to the store, etc. Those masks kept us safe so far!
Excellent month's work, Di! Everything you do looks so beautiful! :) I've been wearing my mask when out and about too. HUGS!
I love the Christmas quilt and it's perfect! All the little imperfections of something hand made make it even more precious! Enjoy your week! Hope you get more of a breeze than we are getting! lol
Never would have noticed that.... that adds to the charm though. I'd combine the two blocks for #8... it will make a super fun quilt. Happy quilting and stay safe.
The Christmas quilt is lovely. The overall affect is so pleasing that I never would have noticed the difference in the block placements.
I would not have noticed your oops if you hadn’t pointed it out!
I think your Stars will great on their own and also the nice patches… you can make two quilts that way…
Lots of lovely projects finished! I wouldn't have seen your oopsie either if you hadn't have pointed it out! xx
You had an excellent July! Congrats on all the progress. The Christmas quilt is beautiful. It's a design change, not a mistake. On Friday where we work reestablished pandemic protocols again. So we are back to mask wearing, socially distancing and virtual meetings again. Thankfully where we work almost 75% of the population is vaccinated. Stay safe and stay well.
I had to look really hard to find your mistake, and I don't think it matters one little bit. And I absolutely love the backing fabric you chose!! I took yet another class in hand quilting on Sunday. I just know that some day I will get the hang of it.
