There's seems to be some crazy weather all over this week end--even here in central-east Florida!!
Marion county --where Olca is and at least 3 of my blog friends live had a tornado and power outages this morning--some damaged buildings but mostly lots of trees down--haven't heard from any of the bloggers yet---but pray all is well--here--we were very lucky--only about 10 minutes of rain and wind--but when I got up this morning we were near 80 degrees and tonight it will be only 40 they say and cold tomorrow and Monday--some of you are getting ice and lots of snow again--but just remember--it's March--so it won't stay on the ground long--at least that is the plan--right????
I got one quilt all finished and it's hung up for me to enjoy--
this was at least a 10 year project--but so well worth all the times I worked on it--here is couple close ups of the rows--
(these blocks were often in 'time out' during those 10 years!)
I also got the last block of Joy's--'stay at home' quilt blocks finished in embroidery last night--
now I need to get all the blocks out and put this one together--maybe I will have more time next week!!! at least that is what I am telling myself--as life has been a bit busy for me lately--but busy is good--or should be good--right???
And this week was also a hard on the heart week--as it was a year ago that my dear Frannie passed away--so in her memory I went shopping and purchased a couple things she would of liked too--
a string of flip/flops--found them at my little gift shop downtown--hadn't been in there in months--and I needed to wait for the bakery to open next door so I could get my loaf of homemade yeast bread!!
And at Beall's earlier in the week I actually bought myself a pair of flip flops--( I now own 2 pairs of flip/flops!!
Frannie had a huge basket, at least 2 feet tall and 15-18 across it ,--full of flip/flops!!!
And a decorating --flop--
I had the bright idea to hang a curtain on this curtain rod instead of a quilt and then under it I would hang some smaller quilts or counted cross stitch pieces--but I think I picked the wrong curtain and it is rather long and takes up most of my hanging area--so a decorator I am not!!!
And I am sad today as my friend here, Cheryl had to let her little doggie cross over the rainbow bridge--Mia was only 10--but a small dog and my friend--she was my favorite doggie here and Cheryl and Mia, and me, spent every morning outside and alot of afternoons--she was fine one day and sick the next--sad sad sad!!
WE MUST BE GRATEFUL FOR EACH AND EVERY DAY AND WHAT WE HAVE FOR THAT DAY--NOW BACK TO STITCHING MY BLOGGY FRIENDS!!
HUGS, DI
