STRANGE FEELING

It was a strange feeling to have a major CAT 3 hurricane hit the state of Florida--and not to have any kind of impact here on the East Coast--we got '2' mini rain storms one the night before and that is the photo I took of the swirling clouds for that one-- and one late in the day of the hurricane--that lasted all of 4-10 minutes with light rain and little wind!!  But oh my--the Bend got it bad--feel so BAD for them.

And we are into a new month--already--

the first of the week was runaround time--Monday to Walmart and Tuesday to grocery store to stock up incase the storm turned or what ever----and what is it about shopping that tires one out--Years ago my Mom used to say that --shopping always tired her out more than housework did--I didn't believe her--I do now!!!

So--let's see what did I do this week--

I worked on putting the next row onto the Country quilt top--this is the first try--

Now this is not how it is suppose to be--but  I forgot to turn my doggie facing the other way--and I have this thing about direction--I did not want the dog (or earlier in the quilt--the bird block) facing the border of the quilt--so I had him facing the flowers--but then I discovered a 2nd problem--so had to unstitch this and start over--

I also seemed to have a problem with the log cabin block--so in the rearranging--I discovered I liked the log cabin block first--then the rabbit hopping from my garden to the log cabin block to hide from me-- and the Rex the dog looking at the flower garden--What can I say, blog friends--I am weird !!!  But then, someone has to be so 'WHY' not me!!!!

And here is this week's heart block--

this one had me in circles--Ha! Ha!--my heart is a bit bigger--but fell in love with the little clover when I was looking for fabric for the heart--and the saying is about small things--I believe that clover is a little thing!!

More Christmas hearts--

I am out of Christmas hearts--but have a couple new prints on order so not done with this one yet!!

I also did counted cross stitching, hand quilting and knitting this week--!!

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR SEPTEMBER--IT'S APPLE AND CIDER DONUT SEASON!!
ENJOY
HUGS, DI

It was a crazy week getting ready for the storm and then watching the rain and wind all day. But we didn't have any damage here so I am thankful for that. I feel bad for all those that did. You have been busy my friend! I love all of your pretty projects! Enjoy your afternoon.

I like McCoun apples--a little bit tart but sweet, too...;))
I LOVE your country quilt--it is really adorable--lovely work on that! Goad to hear that the hurricane missed you and yours, Di...

The Country quilt top is looking really cool. Your holiday hearts is one of my favorite projects you've got. Hopefully you don't have to deal with any of the storms that are sitting out there at the moment, with as warm as the ocean is, those could be doozies when they make landfall.

macintosh... cause that is what I grew up with! You have been busy. The clouds with that storm were crazy. I felt like I was in the dark Harry Potter Movies and waiting for the dementors to fly down and get us! (Ok, it's September and I have been rewatching the Harry Potter movies while hand stitching at night!) Have a good week. I need to pop to Joann's today and see if I can find some matching fabrics to finish up a UFO.

Glad to hear you weren't affected by the storm - good to tire yourself out and be prepared for it though. Well done with the heart blocks (yes you definitely had to make the heart bigger for the clover!) and your rows are also looking great.

Hi! Remember me? I haven't had access to blogs for months, and now they're back. Looks like you're still busy making lots of beautiful things!

I am so glad to hear that the storm had little affect in your area and all is safe. Your County quilt is looking fabulous. The little log cabin block is precious and love that dog. Happy quilting.
