Well-we are already a couple days into a new month--a month that everyone loves to see come around each year--March--a sign of longer days, more sunshine, melting snow and spring flowers!!! What more does one want--???
I had a week of pretty much daily 'vertigo' to deal with--but I did keep on moving--may be a whole lot slower--but moving just the same--so let's see what I did work on--
First up is Counted Cross stitching--I got this little pillow by Melisa all stitched --the background fabric is a pretty light green--here it looks white--And here, the new lamb on the block has joined the 'herd' of 2 other lambs!!! Melisa showed her March Cross stitches today--I see the green truck with a lamb in it-and I am pretty sure I have that pattern already printed off ---soooo????And here is what I have gotten done on the Winter piece--
the hat block is finished--just 3 more blocks til this one is finished!!I did get some sewing done this week--too--I prepared the next '2' blocks of Melisa's BOM for 2024 into small hangings--
March--
AprilsIt seems easier to do 2 at a time--this morning I got both pin basted for hand quilting--And I got a 3rd row hand quilted on this one--
I still have 5 long rows to do!!!
And as February was Embroidery Month --and I had always done a Crabapple sampler the last 5 years--I worked on one of her patterns all month--and here is the 3rd one finished--
If you look closely you will see a very detailed lacy doily under the cake stand and plate of cake-- that doily took at least 3 evenings to do--I finished the stitching on Feb 27th--oh dear one more day of Feb--so I pulled out a couple more Crabapple pieces that I had already colored in for embroidering-There is a total of 4 of these canning jars with flowers in them--
Here is what I got done on this months Chookshed challenge--
All the wool ornaments got big stitched together--but I have to order a new pair of pinking scissors--mine are just too stiff for me to use--I even tried oiling that big screw--but they are still stiff--soo--I did get lots done on them--just not finished, as I wanted to get them this month!
For March our Chookshed challenge is #2--that was a snowman one for me--I am just not in the mood for more Cold stitching so I am planning on doing a project that I just keep putting off and it needs to be done for gifts--
Using these fabrics--yes the placemats I was suppose to make ---some for my daughter's birthday last April and some for this past Christmas--and as my daughter has another birthday this coming April--well--I do believe I need to make this a 'goal' for March---!!!!One afternoon seen me filling this old wooden bowl I have had for years --
I had seen this idea in a magazine--and fell in love with it and I had lots of spools of lace--sooo--now I see what I have easier and it looks so pretty!!!
And I finished a knitted baby sweater-
and have another one on the needles--
And here is the new home of all my hats--
They went on the wall over my new bed--I am not finished with area just yet--so keep watching!!!
And when I went outside to sit in the sun awhile the other day--I had to take some photos--
Well--now it's your turn to tell us what you did this past week???
ENJOY THE MONTH OF MARCH BUT DON'T' FORGET TO KEEP MARCHING INTO THE SEWING AREA AND WORKING ON PROJECTS--
HUGS AND BEST WISHES TO EVERYONE--DI

Sunshine, melting snow and spring flowers would make me ecstatic! Goodness, you have some gorgeous pretties you are stitching. The Crabapple cake pretty is delectable. The lacework is magical. The ensemble of hats above your bed is stunning. I love the addition of the print/painting into the mix. Oh so very chic. Vertigo is a horrible ailment. I hope this week is a better one for you. Xx
Do hope your vertigo is better…
You always amaze me how much you get done .
Cute cross stitches , neat wee wall hangings and such a pretty crabapple project with the nice doily . Another lovely cardigan.
And your hats look great displayed on the wall.
Good luck working on the placemats!
Oh I do hope that you feel better soon, Di. Indeed you did press on- so many fabulous projects and I am so touched that you stitched so many of mine. That is the 1st Clover Basket that I have seen stitched. You made my day. Your hats look amazing. I have a couple that I need to display like that - they look so sweet and romantic on display. I wish you a lovely week. Warm hugs.
