Well for most--Easter is in the rearview mirror--But then-- not for all of us--seems I won't be doing Easter with my son and dil until tomorrow, Tuesday!!!
I did nearly all my runnin around last Monday so I could sew for a few days in a row--and I actually did sew the rest of the week--
First I finished the hand quilting on the Woven Wreath quilt--
And on Saturday I got the binding sewed on it--I was surprised I had a piece of fabric in just the right color for the binding--I think when I bought the top piece a year and half ago--I also got a half yard of that tiny checkered piece--thinking binding--only when I got it out this year to finish it--I used it as the backing--and there wasn't enough for the binding too--But as I said--had a perfect match in my stash!!
So this one is a total finish--I 'so' enjoyed doing the embroidery on this one each month last year!! Thanks Kathy S.
Earlier in the week-- I also got the Truck embroidery top layered and basted--
I may have an issue with hand quilting this one as I did these back when I was using an iron-on interfacing behind the blocks for the stitching--and now to stitch through a batting and backing and the 2 layers in each block--well--we will see how that works out????
And I worked on the Red hexie piece all week--
This piece has been a 'pain' ever since I picked it back up a couple months ago--I had planned on a Grandmother's flower style block--only I needed 6 petals of each print and only had fabric for '4'!! and discovered it was on old enough line that there was none left anywheres--so to Plan b or was it c by this time???? Then as I went to lay this top piece on the background--which by the way was very hard to find in my stash--I have lots of whites and whites on white--but this needed more of bit darker than white---finally-found one that looked good enough and wide enough to use--but then I also discovered I had to unstitch half section of the hexies and move them down a hexie--so some unstitching and restitching was done--the I basted the hexies to the background piece and then appliqued all around the outside hexies--then layered it with batting and backing--and now I am in the process of hand quilting each hexie---
I am slowly working each morning on the ABC farmer's mkt Cross stitch piece--
In other news--
My girl friend Carolyn and I were grocery shopping on Fridays and had a good 10 minute wait for the bus yet--so we popped into the Bealls store--and they already had Easter marked down to 40% off--so look who followed me home--
He was only $6.00--and I will leave him out for the rest of Spring and maybe even Summer!!A very loaded with blooms plant and a rosey-peach color--pretty-
and--
Both were only $7---I have not tried caring for miniature roses before--so we will see???
wonder what I am going to do with these--?????
And here is the yellows I will be playing with this week for the orange peels--
WELL THAT'S MY ADVENTURES FOR LAST WEEK--

I do the same thing, Di - read a blog post while I'm doing something else and forget to go back and leave a comment! You definitely did find the perfect binding fabric for your Woven Wreaths - I still need to bind mine. Your new plants are all very pretty! And I love those pretty yellows for the orange peel project, too.
Your Woven Wreaths look amazing , Di. and love the LHN sampler you are working on. Have a lovely week quilting and stitching . Hugs.
So good to find the perfect fabric in your stash. The woven Wreath is lovely.
The red hexies are looking good as is the other projects.
The plants you bought are gorgeous. Good luck with the little rose bush.
Yes so many folk don’t blog anymore and like you I do enjoy reading them.
I'm guilty of the reading and not getting back to comment as well. You have been making good progress! Hope you had a nice Easter today. I did a ham last night and surprisingly both kids ate well. I guess tastes change - they normally turn up their noses. Hope you are keeping cool in this hot weather.
Your cactus plant sure has blossoms. I have bought miniature roses plants and set them outside in a pot during summer and they’ve continued to bloom till a critter nibbles on them. $4.99 is what I’ve paid for them in the past to enjoy color. Kathy
You had a busy, but productive week. Congrats on the finish, it turned out beautifully ! I drink my morning coffee and eat my cereal while I'm reading blogs and making comments.
