ROUND'EM UP FOR FEBRUARY--

 I have to say I had a busy month in the stitching and craft projects--

Here is some projects not already shown this month--

First --this was my Chookshed challenge for this month--

I got this tulip fabric before I moved to Florida 10 years or so ago--from the local quilt shop in NY--I have 2 other fabrics to go with these tulips--I have attempted to work on these off and  on every few years--but I decided they needed to come out of --time out--and become something--all I can say is--so far I have 4 brown baskets of pink tulips!!!!

For the jewel hearts I did do quite a few of the green ones--and in looking for some other fabrics for a project--I found more blue prints--

So added some for of those--My girl friend Anne, in NY often sends me small pieces of fabric that she is working with in her hospice quilts and this week I got the blue with the daisy's and the red print with the black and white dogs on them--also have a white with some pink flowers--don't have them stitched up yet--I also cut out more 'basic' colored jewels--

And here is photo of 28 hexies that I embroidered one each day for the International Embroidery month of Feb--I love doing these--and I think I will trace out more and keep going--but now I don't have to do one every day--believe it or not--each one took me at least an hour--and sometimes 2 hours to stitch!!

Now this week--I basically had it 'free' for 4 days--my monthly challenges where done--but don't fear--I had a list of projects to do--the first day I sewed up these 3 little items--

The chicken on the left was a kit--that I bought back in 2005 while on a shop hop--from a shop called Adirondack Quilts in Glen Falls, NY--and I did look them up--they are still in business--I finally got her made--the little lamb is a kit that I got free in my first months kit package for the Country living BOM project--and this chicken on the right is a wool chicken--I got the pattern in a recent wool order I did-------well--they may look quick and easy--but those chickens were a 'dickens' to figure out--I need to do more small items, I guess!!!!

The second day--I actually did some painting--

I got these two birdhouses to paint on the same day--the teapot one I got at JoAnn's probably the last time I went there, a good year ago or so--and the green on I got that day at Aldi's next door--I painted the teapot one a light pink and did the napkin mod podge thing to it--first time I did that--the other one is a dark green paint--the roof was already painted the navy blue--and I had a nice floral rub on that I used on it--

the 3rd day--I was back at finishing off some counted cross stitch projects--for displaying--

These 2 were hung up but needed the fabric backing piece and I also decided to add a bit of trim to the tops of them--

and these--

needed the first step of getting their cardboard (I use cake boards from Walmart cut to size)--they will get fabric backings as well--but I need more cake boards first--there was alot and I mean alot of tacky glue used on this day!!!!

I gave myself a surprise--Missouri quilts had a daily deal and one day this tin popped up--

I believe the original price was like $65?? and they had it on sale for $25--and I just happened to have alittle money yet in the bank so I did press that pay button--

And this is all the 'goodness' inside the tin--I believe there is 28 flower patterns in the booklet--My biggest surprise was that it came in a tin instead of a cardboard container--I do love 'tins'!!!

And it looks like Diane is thinking about Easter all ready????

THE HAPPIEST NEWS IS--WE GOT A LITTLE RAIN--WE ARE SO DRY HERE--CAN'T REMEMBER WHEN WE GOT RAIN LAST--ALL I KNOW IT'S BEEN AWHILE!!!
