For the final count down to end of July--
cause-boys and girls--that is just 2 days away!!!
Yep --we are at the end of another month--
but you still have 2 more days to get those July goals finished--
now me--I think I am in trouble here---opps!!!

Here is the first Hearts to my 3rd set --
Nice bright colors this time--

and I have worked on the Pink Heart set--
and this is the plan--
and now all the rest of the hearts have the 2" corners sewed onto them--
Have I ever told you---'that I love pink???"
oh and here is some other fabrics I got when I ordered the light pink solid--
for ideas and help in finishing these blocks--
now I just have to wait to the next 'light bulb' moment for the finishing design!!!!!

And here is where I was --late yesterday--
on my ABC Summer sampler-
I have worked on this this afternoon and am down to the 'W' and that one is a word--
Watermelon--am on the little 'a'--but---
now I am thinking that once the letters are in on this one--
maybe I should go back and work on finishing up the Fall one--
Sept is only a month away now--so if I work on that one--
I might --
might just get it finished in time to actually display it during the actual
Fall season---
and the winter one is done!!!

Now--does anyone know how many she plans on doing in this series--???
cause I thought she was done--
but somewhere I read she was planning on doing '9'--
and the Summer one only made 5 !!!!!

Here is the final few hearts all appliqued--
and now these last '5' are ready to join all their brothers and sisters
in that pile til they get sent to their new home!!!

wait what is this?????
Now if I didn't know better--
I would say that this looks like more 6 1/2" square background pieces
and more hearts cut out for applique---
what is going on here---
What is that you said--my little fairy???
The Fairy girls decided what??
they loved me and wanted to be sure I had some 'happy' work to do---!!!!
guess one can't argue with that thinking and they did it out of their hearts--
It looks like I will be stitching some hearts during the month of August!!!

here is my nature in motion!!!!!

I think alot of us have been seeing 'red' this month---
I was finally able to find time to do my 'red' work for July--
Got the block done--
See the pin wheel fabric in the center  ones--
I have had that fat quarter piece for a very long time--
I have loved it since the day I bought it--
but kept saving it for a special project--
that just hasn't happened--
soooo--we are using it!!!

And the 2 kites are done for July--
and you can see here I also used a piece of the pinwheel fabric--
now on that second kite--
I was in walmart the other day and seen that fish fabric--
and I fell in love with the teal one--
so I bought a fat quarter and used it on this kite--
so anyone want to go Kite Flying with me today?????

And talking about the color 'red'--
I was seeing ---- red----alot this week--
emotionally wise that is--
but we won't go there on here--ok--
So I hope the only red you seen was working with your red fabrics--!!!!!
Can you believe that July is more than half over--wow!!!

There has been alot of hard work the last couple months--
working on hearts--
(not really hard work--lovely work really!!)

I got this months embroidery heart done--
think this was heart #6!!

and more hearts are appliqued on the blue sets--
I think I just have about 4 more in this color way to do--
almost at the end--then to decide what to applique next--
as I really enjoy appliqueing --

and one more baby sweater is all finished--
an actually I finished off another one last night--
but need to do the sleeve seams and hide thread--

Well-- I gotta go for now--
think some 'kites' are calling my name--

I was able to get the last 4 dresses all appliqued--
it was photographing them that became a pain in the****!!
I started taking photos of all 4 of them together--
but just couldn't get the colors on the dresses to come out right--
so finally cropped them and did each one separately--
the red one with a burgundy belt--
a black dressy one with a grey tear drop on the collar--
a green dress with a green bow (tied in the back)
and a blue-- one with off the shoulder top!!

and these 4 join the other 8 made 2 years ago-
 so ---
now Di has to decide how to finish these off--
I think she has a plan--
but we know how 'quickly' she can change her mind!!!

and she is still working on sewing together this years pink heart challenge!!
and she has to do the blocks for this months color--red/burgundy--
so who knows--may be next year
before she gets to doing these into a top!!!!?????

The weather here this week has been low 90's with a small breeze-
and no rain--!!!!

          THIS WEEK END--DI

When I was looking for something the other day--
in my 'UFO' drawer--
I pulled out the dresses that I started
2 years ago for the color of the month--
Remember these????
Most of these are my own design and all are appliqued--
I got the last 4 designs done--
and then it all got put away--
I spent some time yesterday checking the pattern's
picking fabrics and ironing on the pattern pieces
for these last 4 blocks--
and this morning between, Danny and Mac coming--(it's Tuesday)
I got  them traced and even the green one cut out
and laid out on the block and a couple stitches in it!!!

and I am still working on the hearts --
am doing all 42 charm squares this time--so still have a few more to stitch--
then I may sent them to NY to Anne for a hospice quilt or as she likes blues,
she can make herself a quilt with them!!!

And I have been busy knitting--
and have already made 2 baby sweaters with that new batch of yarn!!!

And for this project--
I did decide to put away the Fall one--
( I did get all the ABC letters in that one--)
but am putting it away and stitching the Summer one for now-
yesterday the rest of the threads came in--so started one letter today--
to see if I like the new blue thread--it is darker than the first one--
but it could be a bit darker--but I am going to use this one--
it is so hard to really tell the shades of threads online, isn't it????

I seen the new Summer sampler was finally released--
so I had to order it right away--
Only to me I wanted a different color fabric for stitching it on--
I know --leave it to me to want something different--!!!!!
I decided on this light blue-as this is a summer one--I was thinking of
clear blue skies--
( this is the most expensive piece of 28ct linen I have ever ordered--ouch!!)
and I ordered some blue thread to stitch the letters and words with--
But discovered it was too light of blues--
and the letters wouldn't really show  up--
of course that meant that I had to go online and order more thread!!
and even though I thought I could pick out colors from my stash--
to complete this stitchery--
I ended up ordering some of the colors in the pattern!!!
Hey gotta support the online shops--right???

I have gotten all the letters and words stitched in on the Fall one--
but think when the threads come in for the Summer one--
I will work on it and then go back and finish the Fall one--
doesn't that sound like a plan????

I also am on a monthly mailing for the Farmhouse Christmas series--
and on line I found someone doing this ABC sampler with the houses--
and I just had to get one to do it when the other ABC samplers are done!!!

Tuesday, July 3, 2018

I think I promised to tell you all about last week--
so here goes--
On Monday-- Frannie and I went to the library and the grocery shopping--
and I was working really hard all day on this months OMG project--
On  Tuesday was the day for the men in my life--
(and we aren't talking about my 'son'--)
At 9 am--
Danny comes and we do 'lower' body workout--

Then at 11:30 -
Mac comes--
and we do an upper body work out for an hour--

and by the time he leaves after an hour work out--
I look like this--
and it is lunch time!!!!
On Wednesday we were told that the water would be shut off to the building-
to replace a hot water tank--
I did pretty good till lunch time and then my DD came and got me and we went
up the road to a nice place and had lunch.
We were able to sit in front of a large
window and look out on the river-- had a nice cod and chips dinner--
and brought home leftovers--then on to the grocery store--
On Thursday the 'two men' in my life were back--
they felt I needed another work out!!!!
and on Thursday evening my Television decided to die!!!
On Friday another tenant here and I went to Cracker Barrel for lunch--
again a cod fish dinner and left overs--
we also went to Walmart and then stopped at a Thrift store--
and I did not buy anything--though I seen lots I would of liked
and very low prices!!!  Maybe next time!!
On Saturday--DD came and we again went to a Walmart--
I had to return a couple items and I wanted a better power strip
for all the electronics--then we met DS at a restaurant for dinner--
after dinner we tried out a new Tasty Freeze (ice cream place)
and then came here and set up a television--this time a 42" one--
that another tenant wasn't using--
so I did get to see the Nascar race on Sunday--!!!!
and some how during all these workouts and eating out and shopping--
I did get the quilt finished for June's OMG challenge!!!

and that was the week in review--
and, again, this week is so far turning out to be just as busy!!!

Monday, July 2, 2018

I thought I had picked my one monthly goal--
and the plan was to --
add backing and batting and baste this quilt top--
and then hand quilt it--

Then  I got to reading Joy's post and all the talk about
Christmas in July--
so as this one is already to hand quilt--
I thought I would pick this one--
That is until I went to crop this photo--
and do you see what I see????
a big yellow stain of some kind in the corner of the middle block--
where in heaven's name did that come from????
of course --I have no idea and I don't think that reindeer is talking--
now my question is--
can I wash it now with it only hand basted--
or do I just try to clean that area somehow--
and what about all that red lattice fabric around that block--
even now when I looked at it for real--it is big--but only on the front side--
can't see where any of it came through to the back--
( so why did this stain have to be on the front--couldn't it of landed on the back???)
How do stains appear on things when they are hanging in a closet on a hanger????
Do little 'closet devils' live in our closets????
SOOOO--I guess my first hopeful project will be still hand quilting this reindeer one--
if I can remove the stain--
and if not--
I will do the teacup one for July!!!
Does this sound like a plan to you????
