THREADS EVERYWHERE

Well here at Ivy Cottage I have learned that there can be and will be threads--everywhere--

On Saturday I got the last Christmas piece embroidered that I had traced out--

and took the photo--

and as ---always--there is a piece of thread on it----!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See what I mean--I don't know if you have noticed it before--but there always seems to be a bit of thread of some kind in all my 'model' photos-even when I take great pains to make sure there isn't any--they still seem to "pop" up!!!!

And talking about threads--Here is Saturday's and Sunday's thread winding--

This is the Cosmo's and some Sullivan and Anchor embroidery threads--

and-

I ended with Silk threads in this last box--I am done--I figure I have used at least 16 packages of floss cards--that is over 865 cards--I only had 3 cards left when I finished this last box!!!  So do you think I have enough thread--well--that is until I go to stitch something and don't have the right color!!!!

And for the sewing machine--I wonder who is using up all my wound bobbins--I mean I wind at least 6-8 at a time and 2 days later--I am out--well--maybe it takes a bit longer than that--but really!!!

Must be all the "extra" sewing for these little half square triangle pieces I have been doing!!!  Or the fairies are having a sewing party after hours!!!!

Now I need for you all to vote again-- I have designed a new butterfly pattern for my newest applique project and am having a hard time deciding on the accent embroidery for each one-so here goes--

 Butterfly #1

Butterfly #2

Or Butterfly #3

Or do you have a suggestion????

I started '2' new quilts today--one I got all prepped and it will be used as a leader/ender project--the other one is well on it's way to a finish of 32 blocks--so be sure to stay tuned for future photos and reports !!!

BE GOOD TO YOURSELF--YOU ARE NEEDED--AND YOU ARE LOVED!!!

LUV, DI

Sounds like all those new projects are using up your bobbins! I like butterfly #2. I'm terrible at photo's.... there is either cat hair, thread, dust or a cat on everything!

I also like your 2nd option for butterfly embroidery...
Where did you find that thread case? it is really nice and looks so convenient...my threads are wound around the skeins and awfully messy...

Hi Di. I hope you are doing well. I also like butterfly #2. I not only have thread on my projects, but all over the house. How I manage to do that is a mystery to me.
I want to tell you about a new sew along. It combines sewing and embroidery. And it is a beautiful Christmas quilt. It has already started, but the patterns are still there to download. The email address is: me.modafabrics.com
Click on trending and go down until you see Holiday sew along. Then click on it. Check it out. I think you will like it. Take care!

Guess what? I like no 2 best :)) A thread in the photo I can bear, but I get dog hairs on everything!! And as Stella is black and white it doesn’t help if the fabric is light or dark - they still show up :) Hugs!

Good Morning Di! I thought I liked two best but then I sort of like 3 best. Yep three is the winner, I really like the simplicity of the butterfly.

I'm in the butterfly 2 camp as well. And stray threads just seem to be par for the course when you photograph anything stitching related no matter how much care you've taken before clicking the shutter.
