Saturday--that was yesterday was--
NATIONAL QUILTING DAY--
And I was a good girl and did some sewing--
I had cut all the parts the day before and on Saturday I sewed together '6' Churn dash blocks--3 of each design--and they are to go with the other '3' sets I did late last Fall--
I now have a total of 24 blocks--so now need to arrange them into a quilt top--though I will likely need one more block to do 5 blocks across and 5 rows down!!! And I am pretty sure I know how I want to do the border--and I even have the fabrics for it!!!
I also got the borders sewn on the Frosty top earlier in the week--
and I have the batting and backing all cut for this one--here is the backing-
Plus I got the border sewed on to the Crabapple Feb sampler--
and the batting and backing and even the basting is done on this one--here is the backing-
This one is already to be hand quilted and I will probably start it this week-but first I wanted to get all the blocks done on the Orchid quilt--I just finished the last block last night--This block is my favorite one--and notice the dragonflies on the blocks I hand quilted in!! I still have 2 borders to hand quilt on this quilt--sometime!!!! ( this is not really so out of line and puffy--it is just draped on the back of my chair--sorry)
And I don't know if I have showed you "Frannie"--she watches me stitch on the machine and is very good at letting me know when I need to pick up the 'seam ripper' and have made a 'boo-boo'!!!!
I also have a new friend that watches every stitch I take when I am in my rocking chair---This is Peter--and he has said that if I need some more energy I could 'nibble' on his carrot--but I told him I prefer--chocolate--at that time of the day/evening!!!
When Peter came home with me--this little bottle holder also came home with me--only the center planter was in the little rack--but 2 other small bottles fit on each side of it--
I also got this Friday's heart block stitched up--talk about small hearts!!!! but still a fun block to do--
And I got some more Tulip blocks appliqued--
And apparently my little fairies --that are always missing when there is work to be done--decided I needed more Spring balance--cause this little one showed up--Wonder what this one's name is????
AND TOMORROW IS THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING (OR FALL-FOR OTHERS)!!
DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING SPECIAL PLANNED TO CELEBRATE IT--AN ICE CREAM CONE WOULD BE NICE!!!!! HUGS, DI
