WHERE IS CHRISTMAS????

Oh my--Christmas in July is not a big thing this year--or maybe I am not reading the right post??? I believe I have only seen a couple--one is by Fat Quarter shop--a mystery--so not sure what it is all about yet--one in embroidery by Joy and one counted cross stitching I believe also by Fat Quarter shop--do you know of any others???

I am not as sane this week as I was last week--as I have continued on with catching up on the applique blocks for the County quilt--and this block nearly drove me crazy--

This is actually the first block in the series of 18 so far--I knew it would be work--I only do needle turn applique--but finally decided to take the 'bull by the horns' and do this one--I worked on it for hours yesterday--(course we won't tell anyone--I did have to do some unstitching in parts and then re-stitching !!!) the tiny hands, feet, and hearts were the toughest to do--but--I do like it--so I guess that means all the hours I spent on it are worth it!!!!
And here is more blocks to this series-
and I have at least 3 more blocks all prepared to applique--oh and look at that little strawberry on the tomato pin cushion--again some tiny work!!!!  but she's so cute!!!

This week's heart block was a fun 'big' challenge too--

a heart with embroidered saying in the middle and then--18--yep--18 little yo-yo's going around it to make the shape of a heart!!!!

And here is where I am on the Counted Cross stitching project--

There is still alot of work to do on this piece--next is a big tree branch with a big bee hive hanging from it in the upper right hand corner!!!

And yesterday I went on the bus to the Publix plaza to go to the Dollar Tree looking for these--

The Dollar Tree has these every year in with the new school supplies and they are the  perfect size for my stitching projects--I keep the threads in each one with the pattern pieces and background blocks--or I store the ready done blocks in one until all the blocks are ready to be finished--I love these boxes--and they were just putting them out with the school supplies on Saturday-I had been watching for about 3 weeks now for them!!! (they have lids on hinges-so you always know where the 'lid' is!!!!)

And here is unique photo--

This is a stem of silk flowers I have on the bottom step of my plant stand and the sun was hitting this one small flower and it made it look like it had a light shinning in it--it was so pretty--!

Last Sunday afternoon I did go to my Son's for a cook out--

And remember they have a pond in the back yard--within 15 feet of the patio or so--and there was alot of critter activity for us to watch while we cooked out and ate--

a few ducks and some turtle's came when I went out and threw them some dry oatmeal--they love the oatmeal!!! We also seen white Ibis and an Anhinga bird--they are so neat to watch as they go competely under water to catch fish!!

Grand dog--Oliver loves to lay in the grass and watch them all--though he does like to chase the squirrels!!!

WELL--THINK THAT'S ALL FOR THIS WEEK'S POST--ARE YOU WORKING ON ANY CHRISTMAS PROJECTS THIS MONTH AND WHAT ARE THEY????
BE HAPPY AND BE SAFE--HUGS, DI

You've got some very fun projects in the works. Love your yo-yo heart, that turned out so cool. Stay cool, hopefully it's not as hot there as it is in other places in the south.

I don’t do Christmas in July either as Christmas is only 170 days away.
Cute Teddy block to add to the others.
Great plastic containers for your stitchery projects.
Lovely to have a day out with your son and family.

One of my craft group friends just the other day showed me the gadget she uses to make yo-yo's -- wow! So neat. I had no idea. All your many projects are great and a whole lot of work. I'm trying to use what I got on hand before buying anything else. I definitely need to get all my supplies organized.
